Prepare:
A dish full of earth (good soil, not dry, or used compost).
A yellow candle
A mirror
Olive, patchouli, jasmine, or cinnamon essential oil
A small flower pot
A flower or plant seed
Anoint the candle with the essential oil you have chosen.
Place it in the center of the dish of earth.
Light it and sit down with it between you and a mirror.
Look deeply into the mirror, concentrate on your reflection.
Without being vain, consider the things you find most beautiful about yourself-
not just physically but mentally. What is your inner beauty, what is your outer beauty?
It's important that you never think of what you feel must be "changed",
be as positive about the beauty that you have already.
Perform this ritual as many times as you want to , but preferably until the entire candle has burnt down in the finish then remove the wax from the dish.
Place the earth from the dish inside a small flower pot and plant a seed inside it.
Water it and care for it so that it grows properly.
You will soon find that your beauty will grow, flourish, and shine brighter than
ever before -just as the plant grows before you, emerging from its seed.

A thought spark for you ... on how to live more simply in todays uncertain times.
Gifts ...Instead of running down to M&S or Next or Boots to buy a present for someone's celebration such as birthday or wedding, why not give an "experience" instead? Take them for a walk...
write them a poem...
make them some food ...
personalise and "de-materialise" a gift...
Why not research their name...their star sign , their favourite colour , make a scrapbook of some of your adventures...etc. Find out their fave flowers , grow them 20 seedlings , make up a hanging baskets ...
Photos are so easy these days , ...so take an impromptu photo, AND print it AND frame it AND wrap it in a small verse about that day and/ or how much they mean to you. Will it be more valuable to them then a CD voucher ( I would like to think so )
Or maybe take a responsibility from their shoulders for a while , gift them baby sitting or school run offers, or how about pampering them by arranging a relaxation evening for them , setting a ambient room with scents and music and then read to them for a while.
Let your mind run free ... and DONT be embarrassed about being personal or affectionate.Love helps make this life liveable.
MEN are often harder to find suitable gifts for .. why not then give them gifts based on silence, freedom, appreciation, listening, love , affection , attention , food , sex , understanding. We all need time to ourselves at sometime, men especially need to "fire-watch" . Arrange a way of them having some time for themselves they are not usually able to take ALONE ! ... Dont take offence that they want to be solitary for a while!.
